How we are structured

Shredder Corp is the conglomerate brand under which the member companies of Shredder Corp International Limited (SCIL) operate and provide essential services. Together, these companies form the Shredder Corp network. ‘Shredder Corp’ is often used to refer either to individual companies, firms, and organizations within the Shredder Corp network or several or all of them collectively.

In many parts of the world, companies are required by law to be locally owned and independent. Although regulatory attitudes on this issue are changing, Shredder Corp companies do not and cannot currently operate as a corporate multinational. The Shredder Corp network is not a global partnership, a single company, or a multinational corporation.

For these reasons, the Shredder Corp network consists of companies which are separate legal entities. The companies that make up the network are committed to working together to provide quality service offerings for clients throughout the world. Companies in the Shredder Corp network are members in, or have other connections to, Shredder Corp International Limited (SCIL), an English private company limited by guarantee. SCIL does not practice services or provide services to clients. Rather its purpose is to facilitate coordination between member companies in the Shreddder Corp network. Focusing on key areas such as strategy, brand, risk, and quality, the Network Leadership Team and Board of SCIL develop and implement policies and initiatives to achieve a common and coordinated approach among individual companies where appropriate. Member companies of SCIL can use the Shredder Corp name and the resources and methodologies of the Shredder Corp network are made available to them. In addition, member companies may request the resources of other member companies and/or secure the provision of services by other member companies and/or other entities. In return, member companies agree to abide by certain common policies and to maintain the standards of the Shredder Corp network as put forward by SCIL.

The Shredder Corp network is not one international partnership and Shredder Corp member companies are not otherwise legal partners with each other. Many of the member companies have legally registered names which contain “Shredder Corp”, however there is no ownership by SCIL. A member company cannot act as agent of SCIL or any other member company, cannot obligate SCIL or any other member company, and is liable only for its own acts or omissions and not those of SCIL or any other member company. Similarly, SCIL cannot act as an agent of any member company, cannot obligate any member company, and is liable only for its own acts or omissions.
